Haines Watts Wales reveals double promotion and three new hires

Haines Watts Wales has congratulated Tanya Wilson and Rhys Scourfield after promoting both to new roles.

Tanya has become full equity partner, while Rhys steps up to assistant manager. The accountancy and advisory firm also revealed three new recruits - Lauren Jones as associate, Chillie Squance as business support lead, and Paisley Preece as trainee.

The firm hired Tanya two years ago to head up the corporate finance and forensic team, which has led to a rise in demand for advisory, due diligence and investigation work. Lauren joins the team to help with that work.

Quickly growing Avonmead hires four new recruits and announces a promotion

Rapidly growing Chartered Certified Accountancy Practice Avonmead Accountants has expanded its team with three new recruits.

Set up by Managing Partner Robert Simpson, a Chartered Certified Accountant and formerly a Senior Manager at KPMG, Avonmead has welcomed three new staff members - Aiden Powell, Accounts Assistant, Tom Elwell MAAT, Client Manager, and Bethan England, Office Manager. With offices in the heart of Birmingham and Bristol, the firm is set up to be client-focused, technology driven, and team-led. It will have grown to eight employees in just two years when a fourth new recruit - Dan Ross, Accounting Apprentice – joins in September. Tom Elwell MAAT is the fourth member of the firm to join from KPMG, where he worked for over five years, gaining extensive experience working within the Small Business and Corporate Accounting departments. He joins Avonmead as an AAT qualified and ACCA part qualified client manager. Aiden joins after completing his degree in Accounting at Worcester University. He will support the team with core compliance services such as bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, and onboarding. New Office Manager Bethan previously led a serviced office company, looking after the requirements of over 60 limited companies. She’ll be supporting the management team with key operational matters and assisting with internal payroll and credit control. On top of the new hires, James Faulkner, Manager of Avonmead, has recently been promoted to Associate Director.
